Simran Jhamat: ‘I want to be a role model for the younger generation’

By Martin Booth  Saturday Aug 28, 2021

Simran Jhamat is the first British South Asian professional in the history of Bristol City Women, and hopes to inspire the next generation of South Asian players as well as winning City promotion back into the Women’s Super League this season.

The FA Women’s Championship starts on Sunday with the Robins travelling to Crystal Palace.

The 20-year-old midfielder has played across England youth age groups levels and became the first Punjabi girl to score at competitive level for England’s U17s.
