The Great Run Company’s Paul Foster said: “It was fantastic to see runners back on the start line this year after such a long break and we can’t wait to do it again in 2022.
“We’re excited to open entries and get to work on delivering another memorable event next year, with more personal goals conquered, huge sums raised for charities and finish line celebrations galore.”
Ellie King, cabinet member for public health, communities & Bristol One City, added: “It was uplifting to see runners achieving their physical and mental health and wellbeing goals at the event this summer, while being cheered on by their friends, family and the charities they were supporting.
“We’re delighted to be welcoming participants back in 2022.”
The 2021 Great Bristol Run raised more than £1.5m for charity and included the first dedicated 10k race in the UK for blind and partially sighted runners, which saw Bristol mayor Marvin Rees take part as a guide runner.
