Outrage from Gasheads as kids’ season tickets surge in price
Bristol Rovers fans have taken to social media to express their outrage at next season’s change in pricing structure for season tickets.
The club later responded by introducing a family saver season ticket but fans have argued this does not go far enough.
The controversial changes could see tickets for children under ten rise by 345 per cent, after the club decided to remove the U18s and U10s categories, meaning young Gasheads will now be priced within either the U21 or U14 bracket.
is needed now More than ever
This season, a child under ten could get a season ticket in the terraces for as little as £29 (which works out at £1.26 per game); however, next season this figure has risen to £129 (£5.61 per game), representing a 345 per cent increase.

Meanwhile, a 15-year-old will be paying the same amount for their season ticket as those under 21 or over 65.
Voicing their frustration on the social media platform X, @SirTedGoat said: “The family club… Bristol Rovers always went by this motto until now.”
Rovers fan @simon1883 shared this sentiment: “No family ticket, removal of u18 bracket nothing to incentivise youngsters. Are you sure you’ve got this correct? Adult increases in isolation are not bad. But the kids….. you need the kids!”
Many Gasheads also mentioned how other teams in their division are working hard to encourage young fans to come to games rather than pushing them away.
For instance, Shrewsbury Town have recently announced that their 2024/2025 season tickets for children under seven will be free and will only be £15 for those aged 7-13.
Since receiving backlash, Bristol Rovers have announced they will be offering family saver season tickets in the Brunel South Stand.
This means, when purchased alongside an adult ticket costing £419, one under-14 season ticket will cost £99, and two will be £198.
But this was once again met with frustration, with many fans refuting the club’s claim that they have listened to fans as the scheme only applies to one section of the ground and doesn’t help reduce costs for under-18s.
Gashead @DaniPhil said: “Missing the point really. Why can’t this be enforced across the rest of the ground? Better still actually have child’s ticket prices!”
Regarding 24/25 Season Tickets, chairman Hussain Alsaeed said: “The future holds immense promise, and we are not embarking on this journey alone.
“Your unwavering support, passion, and loyalty fuel our collective aspirations.”
