Bristol gymnast retires from Team GB

20-year-old gymnast Ruby Harrold has announced her retirement from Team GB.

Harrold, who trains in Portishead, was part of the British team that finished fifth in the women’s all-around final in Rio.

She will compete for a US college team instead.

“I’ve grown more as a person than I ever thought I would,” Harrold said on Twitter.

Harrold won team all-around gold at the 2014 Commonwealth Games, as well as silver in the individual all-around and bronze on the bars.
