Bristol Bears Under-18s become national champions

Bristol Bears U18s finished their season with an unbeaten record as they beat Northampton Saints to become national champions.

The 13-5 win at Sixways in the U18 Academy Final was secured through an early try from Louis Trevett and eight points from the boot of Sam Worsley.

Senior Academy manager Gethin Watt said that the result was “a fantastic achievement for everybody”.

Watt said: “The spirit and the the determination that the guys showed was probably epitomised the way that they’ve worked throughout the whole year…

“The effort, the application was outstanding. Just really proud of everybody who has contributed to this today.”

Bristol Bears U18s: Hamid, Lacey, Campbell Wu, Berti, Ormsby, Worsley, Carter; Trevett, Randall, Halliwell, Thraves, Pearce, Tull (c), Gardner, Harvey.

Replacements: Davey, Marsden, Moran, Paramore, Cox, Price, Hawkins, Davies.
