Bristol Bears Women duo shortlisted for Rugby Black List Awards
Bristol Bears Women players Deborah Wills and Rownita Marston-Mulhearn have been shortlisted for the Rugby Black List Awards 2024 in the Women’s Performance Player category.
The awards, created to recognise and celebrate the achievements of the Black community in rugby union, is returning for its second instalment, with the ceremony being held at Twickenham.
Last year’s inaugural awards aimed to inspire the next generation of leaders in sport and saw England and Bristol Bears star Ellis Genge named Men’s Performance Player.
is needed now More than ever
However, it’s not only players who are celebrated at the ceremony, with decision makers and coaches from the community game, leaders within talent pathways, volunteers and elite game representatives also receiving much-deserved praise for their contributions to the sport.
Wills and Marston-Mulhearn have been instrumental to the Bears’ success this season, which has seen them further consolidate their place among the best in the Women’s Premiership as they look all but certain to compete in the playoffs for a third successive season.
The Bears duo will be up against Harlequins’ South African forward, Babalwa Latsha, with the award set to be decided via a public vote, which closes on April 9.
