Misscoteque:
Founded by UoB alumni Georgia Dimore-Miles and Amaia Emerson in 2020, Misscoteque has quickly become a staple of Bristol’s queer clubbing scene.
The club nights are inspired by the lesbian discos of the 80s and welcome women, trans people and non-binary folks. A recent event, the ‘Lesbois and Cowbians’- themed party, was hosted in collaboration with the hit comedy play Cowboys and Lesbians.

They also appeared as part of the Bitch, Please! line up at Bristol Pride this year. If you’re seeking a very gay night out, soundtracked by 80s house bangers and campy UK garage, Misscoteque might just be for you.

Queer Haus of Bristol:
A collective dedicated to fostering a sense of queer community in Bristol, Queer Haus organises meetups, parties, and club nights hosted by different members of the group.
They also have a wonderful resource called the Queer Bristol Directory which is accessible through a link in their Instagram bio.
Whatever your interests may be, whether it’s climbing, choir, exploring nature, pottery, or cinema, you can be sure that Queer Haus of Bristol will direct you to a group where you can meet like-minded queer people.
Bristol Butch Bar
Holding meetings on the last Tuesday of every month, Bristol Butch Bar is a hub for the butch community and is open to lesbians, non-binary people, and trans folks.
As well as their regular monthly meet-ups, Butch Bar also hosts a range of events including their recent second birthday celebration where they held a ‘Love Lies Bleeding’ premiere party in collaboration with the Watershed cinema.
They also marched in the Bristol Pride Parade and hosted a ‘Bristol Butch BarBQ & Picnic’ on the day.
Bristol Bisons RFC
Founded in 2005, Bristol Bisons RFC is the South West’s first inclusive, openly queer-friendly men’s rugby team. The club is open to players wanting to participate socially, to keep fit, or to play competitively.
They welcome players of all abilities, experience, and sexual orientations, aiming to provide a safe and open environment for everyone to participate in the sport they love.
