‘Your student experience will be as diverse as the city’
You’ve chosen a great city to live and study in. Whatever you’re into, you’ll find it in Bristol.
Live music? Independent shops? Comedy? Restaurants on boats? Green spaces? Gin festivals? Street art? City farms? Theatre? Micropubs? Swimming, jet skiing, paddle boarding and surfing? Bristol has it all.
What’s more, if you needed another reason to love it: it’s known to be friendly and welcoming and is officially Britain’s greenest city!
is needed now More than ever
Every day you’ll discover something new – something that doesn’t exist anywhere else in the UK.
There’s just something about the energy that surges through every aspect of Bristol – you’ll soon find your new favourite hangout.
UWE Bristol students live all over Bristol. From campus-living on Frenchay and Glenside campuses to shared halls in the centre to student houses in Gloucester Road and Redland, and Bedminster and Southville south of the river – be sure to explore all over the city, not just where you live!
And as if Bristol didn’t have enough to entertain you, as a student with us you’ll have access to a huge range of facilities across our campuses including the Centre for Music, where you can try your hand at DJing, singing or a new instrument and the Centre for Sport, with over 40 sports to try.
Head to The Students’ Union at UWE to soak up the atmosphere and catch up with a friend. The Students’ Union societies are an ideal way to meet people – from Anime to Rugby to TEDxUWE; there’s a society for almost every interest.

Look out for our welcome events across Frenchay, Glenside and City Campus – think free ice cream, board games and outdoor cinema. There’s even a range of online welcome events for those who need or prefer it!
As a student, you’ll get out what you put in. So, make sure you balance exploring Bristol, engaging with your course and looking after yourself and your friends. That way you’ll have a great time, meet fantastic people and set yourself up to succeed in your career.
Your student experience will be as diverse as the city; there’s definitely no one-size-fits-all in Bristol!
We love Bristol and know you will too – we can’t wait to meet you!
