Bristol beaten by Durham in University Challenge final
Jeremy Paxman’s last episode presenting University Challenge saw the University of Bristol in their first ever final.
But the Bristol team were beaten by Durham University, who lifted the trophy for the third time.
Durham’s victory in the final by 155 to 120 points was a repeat of their first round win over Bristol which they narrowly won 195-185.

The trophy was presented on BBC Two on Sunday evening by Jung Chang, the bestselling author of Wild Swans.
Bristol’s team consisted of captain Tess Richardson (BSc chemistry), Jacob McLaughlin (BSc economics and mathematics), Sam Kehler (medicine) and Alejandro Ortega (MSci physics and philosophy).
