UWE continue to dominate American football
Interest in American football has recently reached an all-time high in the UK following the news that former Gloucester and Wales rugby player Louis Rees-Zammit has landed an NFL contract with current Super Bowl champions the Kansas City Chiefs.
Closer to home, UWE Bristol hosts some of the best American football players in the UK with many of their first team signing professional contracts in Europe and the USA.
The UWE Bullets are so dominant that they did not concede a single point all season and recently completed a historic ‘three-peat’ after beating Durham Saints 52-0 in the BUCS National Championship final.

The victory means that the Bullets have now won the National Championship three times in a row.
The Bullets play in the BUCS Premier League South and faced Durham in the national final at Loughborough after defeating Loughborough and Leeds Beckett in the play-offs.
Bullets head coach, Dan Maher, said: “I’m just so happy for the guys, everyone thought it was easy this year but they trained so hard and for them to perform like that on the day, I’m just so proud of them!”
UWE is widely renowned as being the number one destination for American football in the UK, with professional athletes choosing to study and play for UWE every season.
This season’s championship-winning side includes the European Football League’s current MVP, Jadrian Clark, alongside Ivy League alumni.
