All change for numbers 8 and 9 bus routes
The number 8 and number 9 bus services are being split into two separate routes.
Following a consultation, from September 4, the number 8 bus will operate between Bristol Temple Meads and Clifton with a loop via Bristol Zoo, serving the city centre, Park Street, The Triangle, Queens Road, Clifton Village, Pembroke Road and the zoo.
The number 9 service will link Bristol Temple Meads with Cotham and Redland (using the same roads as now).

From the top of Blackboy Hill buses they will then complete a loop around Whiteladies Road, Alma Road, Pembroke Road and Upper Belgrave Road before heading back to Bristol Temple Meads the same way as they came.
The frequency of the number 8 bus will also increase to every 10 minutes.
The changes also mean there will be no direct service linking Cotham and Redland to Clifton Village, but connections between Service 9 and Service 8 will be possible by changing at Pembroke Road. Service 505, provided by Wessex for Bristol City Council, may also provide an alternative for people who need it.
First Bus also announced that Service 72 (Bristol Temple Meads to UWE, Frenchay Campus) is being adjusted at the same time, with the route amended to run via Elton Road/University Road, St Michaels Hill, Cotham Road, Cotham Grove, Redland Grove, Zetland Road and Gloucester Road en route to and from UWE’s Frenchay Campus.
New timetables for all the affected routes will be available online from August 8, while printed copies will be available from the Travel Shop from August 22.
