Venue: Centrespace

Popular Bristol artists Ruth Broadway and Emily Ketteringham explore their shared love of collecting, museums and maps.

Emily will be showing her new body of work inspired by her ever-growing collection of maps and her love of rocks. Her large circular screenprints are interpretations of geological maps – areas of different rock types are simplified into geometric shapes, then printed in the appropriate colours taken from the map. Overlapping layers of translucent inks create new and unpredictable colours.
Emily will also be exhibiting her concrete pebbles – recent experiments in response to the idea of the Anthropocene.

Inspired by a residency at the Pitt Rivers and Natural History Museums in Oxford, Ruth will be showing a new body of work as part of an ongoing investigation into collecting, anthropology, multiples and display.

Private view Thur 27, 6.30-9pm. Exhibition open Apr 29-May 3, 10am-5pm. For more info, visit www.centrespacegallery.com/?post_type=exhibitions&p=1109
