“Tapesleep is a sound collage formed of acoustic instruments and ambient background sound, recorded to tape cassettes, which have been toxified with deodorant, smoke, and another inhalants.

“It would have been too easy to take the results of this process and create an unharmonic noise composition. Much more interesting, challenging and inspiring was it to create a harmonic meditation on that which I struggle most with; sleep.
“The piece grew to encompass a selection of emerging dichotomies; how do you create a piece that reflects sleeplessness, yet aids in the achievement of sleep; how do you use a tangible form such as analogue tape, to explore in abstract something intangible like sleep? It’s enough to give you restless nights. Either way, I call it Tapesleep.
“I hope you too someday find rest.”
