Bristol Film Festival: From Russia with Love

Director
Terence Young
Certificate
PG
Running Time
115 mins

As if this one needs any introduction, it’s the second – some would say best – of the Bond flicks, with Sean Connery as the suave agent, Lotte Lenya as an ace East German lesbo sadist, and that fantastic battle to the death aboard the Orient Express after Bond brilliantly rumbles disguised assassin Robert Shaw as a dastardly foreigner when he orders red wine with fish.

All of which makes this an excellent selection for a Bristol Film Festival boozealong screening at Averys. On arrival at Averys’ historic cellars, punters get a glass of cava along with a selection of cheeses courtesy of award-winning Arch House Deli. The film itself will be accompanied by a tasting of four wines led by one of Averys’ resident experts. Advance tickets are available here.
