2016’s $58 million-budgeted Deadpool smashed numerous box office records and took $783 million at the box office, so it was inevitable that profane, wise-cracking, fourth wall-breaking bad boy superhero Wade Wilson (Ryan Reynolds) would be back.
Trouble was that the 15 rating excluded all the little kids who really enjoy this stuff. So here’s Merc with the Mouth’s family-friendly ‘reimagining’ of Deadpool 2 “filtered through the prism of childlike innocence.” New scenes see Fred Savage joining Reynolds in an homage to Savage’s starring role in the 1987 fairytale classic The Princess Bride. Will anyone else be interested in shelling out to see a tweaked version of a film they’ve already paid to watch once? We’re about to find out.
