The Afrika Eye film festival joins forces with Come the Revolution to present a Blaxploitation double-bill as part of the Africa’s Lost Classics project. The 1973 curio Joe Bullet is one of a number of films produced by white directors and producers specifically for black audiences in South Africa under apartheid.

This was directly inspired by 1971’s Shaft, adapted from Ernest Tidyman’s novels with an Oscar-winning score by Isaac Hayes. Go here for tickets.
