A homeless street artist (played by writer/director Charles Lane) rescues a nipper (played by his own daughter) after her father is murdered in this little-seen, near-silent, monochrome 1989 comedy which owes much to Chaplin’s The Kid and was an acknowledged influence on The Artist.

It’s back on screen in the Comedy Genius season.
