Slapstick 2018: Duck Soup/Our Relations

Running Time

Undisclosed guest host enthusiasts introduce the final event of the 14th annual Slapstick Festival. And an absolute corker it is too, being a double bill of two vintage comedy classics. First up is Laurel and Hardy‘s Our Relations, in which the twosome meet their long-lost identical twin brothers.

Then it’s the Marx Brothers classic Duck Soup: an uproarious send-up of patriotism, diplomacy, religion and, well, just about everything else, in which a couple of Ruritanian states go to war because someone calls President Groucho an upstart. This was famously banned by Mussolini on the grounds that it was subversive.
