BAFTA-winning filmmaker Paul Wright draws on 100 years of archive footage to construct this cine-essay exploring our changing, occasionally dark relationship with the land.

Expect folk carnivals and fetes, masked parades, water divining and harvesting as it gets all hauntingly Wicker Man on our asses, set to an expressive, specially commissioned score by Adrian Utley (Portishead) and Will Gregory (Goldfrapp) alongside folk music from the likes of Anne Briggs. This collaboration between Compass Presents and the Encounters film festival is a brace of ‘expanded cinema’ screenings in the apt surroundings of the Boiling Wells amphitheatre in St. Werburghs.
