Musicians turned film directors Gina Birch (The Raincoats) and Helen Reddington (The Chefs) tell the stories of women who played instruments in 1970s punk bands. Interviewees include Adverts’ Gaye Black (bass), Palmolive from The Slits (drums), Shanne Bradley from The Nips (bass), Jane Munro from The Au Pairs (bass) and Enid Williams from Girlschool (bass) – who were never a punk band, but we’ll let that slide.

Stories from She Punks is on screen as part of the Doc’n Roll film festival. The directors will be present for a Q&A after the screening.
