Back in 2012, the Ivy pub in Peckham was sold to property developers as part of the grim ongoing process of gentrification. Sarah Turner‘s genre-defying film not only charts how community action saved the Ivy from closure to become one of the country’s first co-operatively owned pubs, but also celebrates its history in dance, music and song, culminating in a grand ‘participatory opera’.
She’ll be present for a Q&A with academic and curator Kim Knowles of BEEF after the Cube’s screening
