Who Let the Dogs Out?

Director
Brent Hodge
Certificate
TBA
Running Time
70 mins

Remember Who Let the Dogs Out? This was a kitsch international novelty hit for Bahamian group The Baha Men back in 2000 (and the third most annoying song ever, according to a Rolling Stone poll). But er, who did let the dogs out?

Based on Ben Sisto‘s stage show, this is not, mercifully, a film about the Baha Men themselves, but an investigation into the song’s mysterious, much-disputed origins, which stretch way back to 1959. In an attempt to dig out the truth, director Brent Hodge whisks us from the Bahamas to Trinidad, England, Florida, New York, Seattle, Michigan and finally to Texas. And yes, even disgraced Jonathan King claims to have had a hand in the song’s success (see clip above).
