Bristol Film Festival: Escape from Alcatraz

Director
Don Siegel
Certificate
15
Running Time
107 mins

Pissed off with the brutal regime of evil warden Patrick McGoohan (yep, The Prisoner is a warden), Alcatraz inmate Clint Eastwood plans a meticulous escape. Don Siegel’s gripping prison break drama is based on the true story of the only successful escape from San Francisco’s island prison.

Appropriately enough, this Bristol Film Festival screening is part of a series of suitably crime’n’punishment-related features screened in the former cells below the Bridewell Police Station – aka The Island. Go here for tickets.
