Running Time

If you lived in Bristol during the 1990s, you’ll be familiar with the work of Black Pyramid – the city’s original African Caribbean filmmaking project. Founded in St. Pauls in 1993 by Femi Kolade and Ian Seargent, Black Pyramid set out to give BME filmmakers new opportunities and was the first initiative of its kind in the south-west. During its five-year run, it produced work for HTV and Channel 4. Black Pyramid also collaborated with the likes of BBC, Watershed, Arts Council and the BFI.

To celebrate the project’s 25th anniversary, the new bimonthly Cables & Cameras showcase for BME filmmakers has raided the Black Pyramid archives to screen a number of their films. The screening will be followed by a panel discussion hosted by Adam Murray of Come The Revolution.
