Bristol Palestine Film Festival: In Between

Director
Maysaloun Hamoud
Certificate
15
Running Time
101 mins

Maysaloun Hamoud’s much acclaimed, subversive and taboo-busting debut feature is a girl power drama about a trio of modern Palestinian women who share an apartment in Tel Aviv, where they fight against the constraints of family expectations and their Muslim faith.

It’s inevitably been compared to western flicks in the Sex and the City mould, but as the Hollywood Reporter noted, In Between should also prompt audiences to “seriously update their ideas about the lifestyle of Palestinian women in Israel”.

Bristol Palestine Film Festival‘s screening of In Between at Bedminster’s Windmill Pub last year was heavily over-subscribed, so you’re urged to book a place in advance by emailing TheWindmillFilmClub@Gmail.com. Admission is free but donations are welcome.
