Misbehaviour

Director
Philippa Lowthorpe
Certificate
12A
Running Time
106 mins

Bristol’s very own Philippa Lowthorpe, whose directorial credits include Swallows and Amazons and episodes of The Crown, revisits the eventful 1970 Miss World contest at the Royal Albert Hall for this comedy-drama.

How better to launch the women’s liberation movement in the UK than by disrupting the most-watched live TV show on the planet with a volley of flour bombs? Bob Hope (Greg Kinnear) is the MCP (ask your mum) on the receiving end of the feminists’ (Keira Knightley, Jessie Buckley, etc) displeasure. History is also made when Miss Grenada (Gugu Mbatha-Raw) becomes the first black woman to be crowned Miss World. Go here for our interview with Philippa Lowthorpe.
