Mark Cousins, of I Am Belfast and The Story of Film fame, makes his dramatic feature debut with this lightly fictionalised musical docudrama which also features singer Swedish-born Neneh Cherry‘s acting debut as a depressed architect wandering through the city giving voice to her inner monologue.
It’s as self-indulgent as one might expect, but also benefits from striking imagery by Wong Kar Wai’s regular collaborator Christopher Doyle.
