Steve McQueen leads an all-star cast (James Garner, Richard Attenborough, Charles Bronson, Donald Pleasence, James Coburn, David McCallum, Gordon Jackson, etc) as the plucky POWs who scarper from Stalag Luft III in John Sturges’ cracking WWII escape drama.
On the 75th anniversary of the real-life escape, Dan Snow presents this special event, beamed live to cinemas from the Hammersmith Apollo. It includes music from Britain’s Got Talent stars The D-Day Darlings, plus a chance to see Mr. McQueen’s Triumph TR6 motorbike and hear testimony from veterans of the escape. All of which is followed by a screening of the film in 4K. The live broadcast is on March 24, with encore screenings to follow.
