After the daughter of Kaoruko (Ryoko Shinohara) and Kazuaki (Hidetoshi Nishijima) is involved in a life-changing accent, thye have to decide whether to pull the plug. Their dilemma is complicated by a young doctor who presents an unusual new technology that has the potential to not only save their daughter’s life but also improve her medical condition. Yukihiko Tsutsumi‘s porvocative drama is based on a bestseller by Keigo Higashino.

It’s on screen in the annual Japan Foundation Touring Film Programme, whose theme this year is happiness.
