All My Life’s Buried Here + director Q&A

Director
Stewart Morgan Hajdukiewicz
Running Time
120 mins

Drawing on recently uncovered archive material, this new documentary tells the story of British composer, musician, folk song collector and dancer George Butterworth (1885-1916), who lost his life in the Battle of the Somme.

There are plenty of local connections here. Butterworth’s mother Julia (who was the single greatest musical influence in his life) came from Portishead, and he collected folk songs in the area. Also included in the film are Cecil Sharp’s rare and stunning photographic portraits of folk singers from pre-1914 Somerset. Director Stewart Morgan Hajdukiewicz will be present for a Q&A after the Orpheus’s screening.
