Australian Ballet: The Merry Widow

Certificate
12A
Running Time
130 mins

Dashing Count Danilo sets out to save his cash-strapped tiddly principality by getting hitched to newly widowed and absolutely loaded Hanna Glawari. Trouble is that when they meet she realises he’s the bastard who jilted her years ago – and she still hasn’t forgiven him.

Based on Lehar’s popular comic operetta and created especially for the Australian Ballet, this frothy production is equal parts hoofing and comic farce, with eminently hummable choons.
