Metropolitan Opera Live: La Boheme

Certificate
12A
Running Time
196 mins

A quartet of bohos share a grim garret in 1830s Paris. On Christmas Eve, poet Rodolfo is visited by neighbour Mimi and they promptly fall in love. But – hey! – this is opera, so misery can’t be far away.

Puccini’s romantic masterpiece is the opera that’s performed most frequently by the Met (1,200 times, fact fans). This is Franco Zeffirelli’s suitably OTT production, which premiered way back in 1981. Operatic titans Sonya Yoncheva and Michael Fabiano take the lead roles.
