National Theatre Encore: Who’s Afraid of Virginia Woolf?

Certificate
12A
Running Time
190 mins

Late one night after a campus party, unhappily married middle-aged couple Martha and George invite a younger couple home for drinks. As the alcohol flows and dawn approaches, the unfortunate guests find themselves drawn into their hosts’ bitter feuding.

Imelda Staunton stars as Martha, with Conleth Hill as George, in James Macdonald’s much acclaimed new production of Edward Albee’s landmark play. Luke Treadaway and Imogen Poots are cast as the younger couple. The play is broadcast live from the Harold Pinter Theatre on May 18, with encore screenings to follow.
