Found Footage Film Festival 2018

Joe Pickett (The Onion) and Nick Prueher (Late Show with David Letterman) bring their latest selection of video weirdness to town, hot from a run at the Edinburgh Festival.

Founded back in 2004 by Pickett and Prueher, the Festival specialises in collecting crappy old VHS videos from bins, garage sales and charity shops. The duo are constantly on the lookout for bizarre home movies, odd industrial training videos, rib-tickling self-help guides, crazy religious rants, and so on. They then splice this cornucopia of crud together to form a show, discussing where and how they found the clips and adding their own live comedy commentary.

This time, they’re promising a home movie documenting a debaucherous holiday weekend in rural Michigan, a  New Age exercise video demonstrating a process called ‘testicle breathing’, the ‘sexy’ hype video for a 1980s pro wrestling duo called The Fabulous Ones, behind-the-scenes footage from a fishing-themed calendar called Women In Waders, and much more video weirdness.

Last year, their two shows at the Cube sold out very quickly indeed, so grab those tickets while you can. They’re available here.
