This was all achingly hip back in 1994 and is now, inevitably, unintentionally hilarious. As many have been quick to observe, it also enjoys only a passing acquaintance with reality.
Under the bonnet, Ben Stiller‘s tale of aimless ’90s ‘Generation X’ yoof is in fact a very old school and rather clunky love triangle romcom with ennui-marinated Texas college graduate Winona Ryder torn between geeky TV exec (watch out for that decidedly Hollywood ‘meet cute’) Stiller and drop-out Ethan Hawke.
