After Today
Stage D’Or makes its Bristol debut with this new play, which explores the fateful moment in the career of presenter Bill Grundy, and its aftermath.
December 1, 1976. A mean-eyed, bitter drunk with old-school values goaded the front-runners of a new sound into swearing on live television. It finished him and made stars of them. What happened next?
After Today finds disgraced TV presenter Bill Grundy some years after his infamous interview with the Sex Pistols on the Today show. Bill has managed to land a job on Close Up On Castles for Southern Television. Facing off against his young new director Julian, Bill reminisces about that interview and the decline of society.
