The Bristol Cheesemonger shortlisted for national award
The Bristol Cheesemonger has been nominated for a national industry award.
Passionate cheese connoisseur Rosie Morgan only opened her first permanent premises in St Nicholas Street in 2016 and subsequently moved to Cargo 2, where the business has been going from strength to strength.
Now, it has been recognised, not just by Bristol dairy lovers, but by The Great British Cheese awards, where it is shortlisted in the Best Speciality Cheese Retailer category.

“We are honoured to have been nominated for this category and to make it through the public voting stage,” says Morgan.
“As a small business still in it’s infancy it is a great honour to have the recognition from our customers and suppliers. We will continue to maintain our quality and standard, as well as sourcing only the best local cheeses for our shop.
“The Great British Cheese awards is a national renowned body and to be nominated for award means a huge amount to the team at The Bristol Cheesemonger.”
This award differs from others in the fact that the general public have a big say in recognising the best cheese companys in the UK, then a qualified judging panel has a final say on the overall category winners.
More than 9,000 people voted this year for their favourite cheeses up and down the country.
Rosie first started working with cheese at a Saturday job when she was 15 and her passion has continued.
Talking about her aspirations for the business, she told Bristol24/7 in May 2016 that she hoped her shop would be as well respected as some of her favourite places and her hard work seems to be paying off already.
The awards will be announced on Wednesday, October 11.
