Josh Eggleton to appear for third time on Great British Menu

By Bristol24/7  Tuesday Aug 30, 2016

Soon before opening his third restaurant, chef Josh Eggleton will be competing for the third time on BBC Two’s Great British Menu.

This year’s challenge for Eggleton and the other competing chefs is to create a series of dishes that honour the people who have been recognised in the Queen’s birthday and New Year’s honours lists since she came to the thrown.

Eggleton is the chef-proprietor at the Michelin-starred Pony & Trap in Chew Magna as well as owning Salt & Malt at Chew Valley Lake and preparing to open Chicken Shed in five converted shipping containers at Cargo in Wapping Wharf.

In the new series, the 32-year-old will compete against Chris Wheeler of Humphry’s at Stoke Park in Buckinghamshire as well as fellow 2015 contestant Jude Kereama from Kota in Porthleven Cornwall.

“This will be the third time I’ve appeared on the Great British Menu and it’s been a great experience cooking alongside two fantastic chefs,” Eggleton said.

“This year’s brief was about honouring everyday people who have achieved incredible things and it was great to research and create dishes for. We’re recreating our dishes in a series of Great British Menu banquets in each of our restaurants so I’m looking forward to cooking with Chris and Jude again.”
