Running training plans are a great way of breaking down your training into small and achievable goals, and they are tailored so you can choose a beginner plan, a run-walk plan, or the improver plan if you’re looking to beat a previous time or achieve a personal best (PB). So, you can either use the plans to start to run, get back to running or achieve a personal best time.
is needed now More than ever
Running helps you to not only build strength and cardiovascular fitness but it can help clear your mind or be a great social activity if you join a friend to train or a local running group. If you’d like a weekly challenge during your training then don’t miss the new weekly, free 2k and 5k runs held at Hengrove Park. Find out more at Great Run Local.
Interested in rising to the challenge? You could use the 10k as part of your half marathon training plan and train for the 10k in 16 weeks, followed by the Great Bristol Half Marathon on September 27, giving yourself another 4+ months after the 10k to train for the 13.1 mile distance, and there are official Great Run training plans for the half marathon too.
