Video: England fans celebrate at Ashton Gate

By Laura Collacott  Friday Jun 17, 2016

Thousands of fans skived work yesterday afternoon to watch England’s late winner against Wales on Ashton Gate‘s 25 square-metre screen in the stadium’s Sports Bar & Grill, the largest indoor pub screen in the UK.

“It was a brilliant afternoon and evening of football here at the stadium,” said chief of operations Mark Kelly.

“We are such a new venue and it was great to see so many Bristolians adopting the stadium as the place to come and watch the big live sporting events. There is no where else in the city that can cope with the numbers that we can and all of that adds to the atmosphere. The Sports Bar & Grill was sold out and at capacity almost an hour before the England / Wales game even kicked off.”

The stadium will be screening every Euro 2016 game live on the big screen.
